June 2011

June has flashed by in the blink of an eye. I started my new job on 6th June and it has consumed so much of my time. I am absolutely loving it so far. As well as drumming up business for my new employers I have been training a colleague and attending more evening functions than usual. I’ve been shattered come home time, so spare evenings have been about crashing out on the sofa with a film to watch. I've been sleeping like a log. I’ve started to get used to being up early. It’s new and exciting.

With work taking over day and night, and every other weekend being all about the kids, I’ve not had time to work on this month’s blog. So June’s entry is going to be short. More next month I promise.

June’s highlights:

I attended a Speed Awareness Course to avoid getting three more points on my license. It was thought-provoking and enjoyable, which was a double surprise. I haven’t driven like a maniac for some time now but the course has slowed me down again, and made me a better driver. Considering my current company car is an Audi A4 2.0 turbo diesel this is no bad thing.

My dad turned 65 mid-month and finally retired. We had a family birthday do for him on a Saturday afternoon and I attended his retirement lunch at the Salvation Army in Sale. I was bursting with pride and love for him on both days. He deserves a good rest more than anyone I know.

My son James turned 13. That’s two teenagers under my roof. James’s voice has dropped and the spots are kicking in. Looking at him at the moment makes we wonder where the time has gone.

Oh and I had a proper haircut and the beard has been replaced by a goatee.........

I’m 40 next month. Watch out for my July blog at the end of the month for tales of.... well.... you can imagine.....

Ta ta for now!
